WHO WE ARE
Established in 2017, SoundCity School of Music originated as a vision in the hearts of founders Gerson and Kelly Sigüenza. The initiative emerged from a recognized need to develop a structured music ministry program specifically tailored to the Christian Hispanic community.
Prior to the founding of the school, Gerson and Kelly provided private music instruction from their home, teaching up to twelve students each Saturday. These early efforts laid the foundation for what would become a more formal and impactful institution.
The founders believe that their involvement in music ministry extends beyond personal participation in local church services. They view their calling as a responsibility to equip, inspire, and mentor others to serve in worship ministry with passion, love, and excellence.
SoundCity School of Music represents more than a traditional educational institution; it is a community of worshipers, musicians, and students united by a shared sense of divine calling. The school's mission is to proclaim a message of hope, salvation, and love—locally and globally—through the transformative power of music.
OUR MUSIC PRoGRAM
The Ministry Music Program is designed to prepare and train students for effective and excellent service in their local church music ministries. The program is structured into six levels, distributed across six trimesters, and offers students the opportunity to select a primary instrument of study, including piano, drums, guitar, and bass guitar. In addition to instrumental instruction, enrollment in Music Theory and Leadership courses is mandatory, as these subjects constitute a core component of the curriculum.
The program is divided into two age-specific tracks: the Children's Program, which serves students between the ages of 7 and 11, and the Adult Program, which is open to individuals aged 12 and older.
